Rain, Snow, or Shine: a “weatherproof” Winterfest at the Library

Every year February rolls around and while snow is not always guaranteed, Winterfest is! This year is no different and the Library is prepared for some seasonal fun no matter the weather. With events for all ages, it’s the perfect opportunity to shake off the winter blues and make some lasting memories.

The Library and Carriage Barn Books at 100 Albany Street. The perfect place to spend a winter day.
The Library and Carriage Barn Books at 100 Albany Street. The perfect place to spend a winter day.

Want to spend winter cozy with a good book? We can help. Join us Saturday Feb. 8th for our Friends of the Library Pop-Up Sale. Why wait for our annual summer sale to shop bargains? Our Community Room will be loaded with gently-used books at low low prices. Care for a more recent book? Head into Carriage Barn Books which will be open regular hours all weekend long.

Interested in spending time with family and friends? We can help. Stop by the Library to pick up a storybook stroll map then guide your group downtown to find the book's pages and complete the puzzle. Farmstead 1868 lavender bears will lead the way. Return to the Library with a completed map and the first 100 children will be rewarded with a free ice cream token provided by Thomas Tait, Realtor.

OR!

Looking for a little adventure? Gather your friends and join our Team Scavenger Hunt, co-sponsored by Thomas Tait, Realtor. Provided with prompts that encourage you to explore the fun and spirit of our winter community, teams will snap some pictures and rack up points. Earn points for creativity and originality in your photographs, and have the chance to win exciting prizes!

Seeking culture? We can help. Enjoy the gallery show featuring hand knit items from members in our community. We also invite you to celebrate the work with the artists on Thursday February 6th (6-7:30pm) with an artist reception. Or if a family-fun concert is what you want. Join us for Music with Henry on Saturday Feb 8th at 11am. Henry Howard will have your hands clapping and your toes tapping!

So come sunshine, snow, or even rain, the Library is here for a weekend of fun! Whether you’re looking to explore, create, treat your taste buds or enjoy some live music, there’s something for everyone.
